An Orgy of Orchids

A greenhouse full of orchids.
My dear friends, Ron and Chris, have a passion for growing beautiful orchids and other exotic plants. The more exotic and rare the better. They travel all over collecting these beauties and what started as a hobby is now a business. I had a hard time staying out of the greenhouse while visiting them in California. The scent of sweet flowers was intoxicating! I hope you enjoy a few of my favorite orchids. Let me know which one is your personal favorite.

  4. Thanks friends! So glad you enjoyed my orchid orgy. I really like the lavender one too. It is almost plain compared to the flashy colors of the others.

  5. omg!! The orange ones are most definitely my faves. The reason is that they have that appendage that looks like a flying bird in the center. I have seen these in different colors. When I had them listed in my etsy (photo) shop, I titled it" Little Birdie Orchid" because I had no idea of their real name. :)

  7. Oh my, my, how gorgeous these are! I'll bet it was amazing to be there in the greenhouse. I love the lavender orchids too, but the Magenta Flame is my favorite I think. Do you remember if they had a scent?

  8. Mary I noticed the resemblance to little birds on the orange ones too! They are so cute.

Thanks for the nod FishHawk. You rock!

Karen, I can't remember which ones had a scent. My friend literally had thousands of orchids. They are going commercial and will soon build a second larger greenhouse. It is quite astounding!
