Pawnee National Grassland - Colorado Landscape Photography

sandy rugged buttes rising under a dramatic stormy spring sky on the High Plains of Colorado

Clouds fascinate me. I find myself gazing into the Colorado blue sky often. The day we chose to drive out to the Pawnee National Grassland was threatening to be stormy, but on we drove. I was rewarded for my perseverance with some of the most dramatic skies I have ever photographed. It will always be a shoot I remember.

So if you are ever contemplating turning around in your life because it gets a little stormy you might just miss the time of your life. I know I would have.

  2. Hi Julie,
I didn't realize how big the butte was until I caught a glympse of the two tweeny-weeny people to the right on your picture! I'm glad they were there to give perspective. Great job!

  3. Oh my goodness glory girl, I can't believe the depth you've taken your already magnificent photography to. Why darlin'...I could almost jump right into that shot!!! Breathtaking Sweetie.

Clouds are my favorite thing to paint with both watercolor and oils. 'Just sayin'.....

The photos I have up right now were taken with my 35mm with all the bells and whistles, I can't seem to get the same quality with my digital...I'm workin' on it though. I'm hopin' for a Pioneer Woman style someday, guess I wasn't good enough for 'Santa Baby' this year! Heeehehehehe!

God bless ya dear one and have a splendid day!!! :o)

    1. Hi Nezzy! You are the sweetest! I work hard to improve and I'm glad you think so. I do have to say though that nature does the heavy lifting when it comes to these gorgeous western landscapes. I can't get enough!

I'm off to check out your latest photos. And I love your country wisdom girl. All the best to you!

    1. Hi Nezzy! I've been working on new photography and trying to catch up from being out of the studio last week. How are you?

  6. The clouds meeting the land - I like that.

I've always loved the clouds, too. It's one of the few pleasures of flying - to be right up there with them.

All of your landscapes are just gorgeous!
