It has been a busy weekend on our mountain top. I love to go out after a fresh snowfall and see who has been out and about. Today the traffic has been heavy. I saw the tracks of deer, a solitary bobcat, numerous bunnies, and the tiny tracks of a forest deer mouse. Do you find their scampering tracks to the tiny hill as humorous as I do?
Mountain or Molehill
Tiny tracks of a forest mouse venture out to explore on a sunny winter day. Is that a mountain or a molehill?
Bunny Tracks
A trail of rabbit tracks leads up a snowbank and into a forest.

I love all the tracks in the fresh snow! In our little city yard I see bunny tracks that go from one small half-eaten shrub to another. Pretty sure the euonymous on the other side of the house is being gnawed to death (the part that wasn't killed off last winter) but the snow is too deep to wade over there. That's what I get for not putting chicken-wire all around it last fall as I had intended. And after all that, I still can't be a bunny-hater!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Julie--love the first one best--the bump in the snow makes me wonder what's under it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful...I love the snow and it's been pretty dry down here in Southern Colorado. :(

ReplyDeleteI love seeing animal tracks in the snow - especially the bunny tracks! Kinda makes me wish we had some snow!
ReplyDeleteExcellent capture...!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie!
ReplyDeleteI just love these foot prints in the snow! This brings back such wonderful memories of when I had my 4H group. I would take them out to be snow detectives, hunt for tracks in the snow, and discover who was visiting their yards! So much fun!:-)
Have a great week!
Tracey
Beautiful tracks!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the sweet comments! The little bump in the snow is the top of a little pine. When I walked by today the snow had melted down a bit and it was poking up.
ReplyDeleteWish I lived someplace where I could see animal tracks--so neat, Julie. :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously awesome photos....love the first one :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures, Julie!
