Tracks in the Snow

A framed photo of tiny tracks of a forest mouse venture out to explore on a sunny winter day.
It has been a busy weekend on our mountain top. I love to go out after a fresh snowfall and see who has been out and about. Today the traffic has been heavy. I saw the tracks of deer, a solitary bobcat, numerous bunnies, and the tiny tracks of a forest deer mouse. Do you find their scampering tracks to the tiny hill as humorous as I do?

  1. I love all the tracks in the fresh snow! In our little city yard I see bunny tracks that go from one small half-eaten shrub to another. Pretty sure the euonymous on the other side of the house is being gnawed to death (the part that wasn't killed off last winter) but the snow is too deep to wade over there. That's what I get for not putting chicken-wire all around it last fall as I had intended. And after all that, I still can't be a bunny-hater!

  7. Hi Julie!
I just love these foot prints in the snow! This brings back such wonderful memories of when I had my 4H group. I would take them out to be snow detectives, hunt for tracks in the snow, and discover who was visiting their yards! So much fun!:-)
    Have a great week!

  8. Thank you all for the sweet comments! The little bump in the snow is the top of a little pine. When I walked by today the snow had melted down a bit and it was poking up.
