Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle - Part 1

Our first day in Seattle found stormy rainy weather. Imagine that! Coming from the arid west we were looking forward to this natural phenomenon. After checking into the Edgewater Hotel right on Elliott Bay, we decided to put on our rain gear and take a walk to the Olympic Sculpture Park a few blocks away. We were lucky that the rain stopped even though the skies remained gray and I could snap photos to my hearts content. Here are my first of many more to come. What do you think?

  1. Julie, fan-tas-tic!!! Did you shoot in HDR? The clouds, building, and sculpture detail (especially in "Devour") are really exquisite. Fabulous job!

  7. Thank you for the compliments everyone!

Michelle, no I did not shoot in HDR. That is something I do want to play with but that shot is pretty straight forward. I was lucky with the great lighting.

Gretchen, there is a whole bunch more coming! LOL

  9. Hello Julie~ These are some great shots even with the gray, stormy clouds above. The first picture showing the city is perfect while the second shows how dedicated a crow can be to pose in the frame. Have a great weekend.

    Congrats on Blog of Note~

  21. Hi Julie,I've taken picures since the day someone put a camera in my hands, but I've never had an opportunity to professionalize (if that's a word) my passion. I'll be watching your beautiful photos for enjoyment, but also to inspire me to take some photography courses.
