Sunday Gallery - Seattle Evening Romance

One wondrous evening in Seattle I was totally enchanted. Going from a land of mountains and dry sage in Colorado to the seascape of the Pacific Northwest is a dramatic change to the senses; with the gently falling rain, the ocean's salty scent, and the sailboats floating lazily like giant birds on a giant pond. We stood mesmerized watching the ships for quite some time and then decided to have dinner on the waterfront deck of our hotel. The breeze was a little chilly but undaunted we "layered up" as we say in the mountains, unwilling to give up our intoxication with the waterscape. I caught our reflection in the window and smiled. Afterward, we walked hand in hand along the waterfront as the sun slowly descended into the water of the sea.

  2. Your photographs...invoke emotion. Thanks to you for your work. My favorite of these: #3. The contrast of the sky & water. Amazing moment, how fortunate you are in a continual state of observation for all of us.

  10. Beautiful pictures! I love #2, so cool how you captured you enjoying the restaurant and the scenery and with a camera in your hands, almost looks like you layered it!

  11. Thanks for all the wonderful comments! The reflection of me and my "date" is not layered. I'm an opportunistic photographer as you might have noticed and rarely plan or have a tripod. But I do carry that camera everywhere to capture just the right moment when it presents itself. Thank you all for visiting!

  20. Thanks so much everyone! I wasn't sure if anyone else would appreciate a somewhat "personal" photo like the reflection. What a great surprise to find so much interest! BTW, I don't have anything against layering or altering photos. That is part of the "fine art" label and some of my favorite photographers are very adept at it. Thanks for your comments. I appreciate your participation!
