Rabbits, Bunnies, and Hares Oh My!

This is the Year of the Rabbit. I happened to be born in the Year of the Rabbit way back in the last century. It is interesting to note that I get along well with sheep, pigs, and dogs. And because dogs are my kind of people maybe I should hook up with some pig and sheep buddies too.

Then we have the Easter Bunny, March Hare, and the White Rabbit. The latter two being created by Lewis Carroll in a drug induced state no doubt. No one knows for sure about the Easter Bunny, but he seems to have hopped into the scene in 17th century Germany, a counterpart to the Santa Claus of Christmas.

Colorado Wildflower Blank Note Cards

Colorado wildflowers in shades of purple, blue and lavender in this set of six note cards.

Wildflower season in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is still far off but these three note cards can bring the season to you early. I have three different photos; a lovely lavender penstemon, a bold blue wild geranium, and Colorado's famous columbine. The set includes two of each flower. I love to use the blank cards for birthdays, anniversaries or get well wishes. They also work well for just dropping a note to a friend. So as I am sitting in my studio on this cold snowy March day, I am really dreaming of wildflowers in purple, lavender and blue.

Anti Valentine Note Card - Lust

humorous anti Valentine's Day pair of TWO note cards done in gothic black and white of Lust's gravestone

Valentine's Day is nearing. For some it is a day to contemplate past relationships. Hopefully those trysts have turned into friendships. Lighten the moment and send that "special" friend a little poke of fun. You know who it is. Go on. You will laugh together at your misstep and put some humor in the day. After all, as Charlie Chaplin said, "A day without laughter is a day wasted."

Valentine Note Card Set of Six

A Valentine card with a heart full of pink flower petals on a pale lavender background of petals.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. I thought it would be fun to play with a photograph of a pink hydrangea and create a little heart of pink flower petals. This blank note card is perfect for your mom, sister, friend, or your true love. You write the perfect personal note yourself. My wish is that you have many loves in your life. So why not let them know.

Mellow Yellow - Friday Features

Gentle curls of yellow flower petal catch the morning light on this calla lily.

Yellow is sunshine. It makes me think of summer and fresh flowers. In Japan it represents courage and in India peace. It is joyful, perky, and attention grabbing as well as hopeful, laid back and relaxing. Today's collection is a delicate mix of soft yellow items. Enjoy each one and while you are visiting you may wish to listen to "Mellow Yellow" by Donovan. Have fun!
