Rising

A framed photo of a brilliant red sunrise is an abstract explosion of bright red with a silhouette of the horizon.
According to astrology some of us are ruled by the sun and some by the moon, not to mention many other planets. The sun is hot, dry and masculine in nature; whereas the moon is associated with the feminine and dark energies. There are sun worshipers and folk that like to howl at the moon. We have early risers and night owls. Whichever group you prefer I hope that my photographs bring light to your day or your night. Tell me which of our celestial bodies brings out the best in you.

  3. gorgeous photos! I love the warmth in the sunrise photo but I'm definately a night person. It's possible I may be allergic to getting out of bed any earlier the 9am :)

  7. I rarely see the sun rising. :) But the idea of it appeals to me more because it is the beginning of a new day.
I love looking at the moon as I walk my dog at night, especially when it's full. As you said, seeing the contrast against the dark sky is a beautiful sight.
What a beautiful set of photos, surely to inspire.

  8. I see sunrises every day, but never photograph them because I'm on my way to work. And on the weekends I sleep in :) So I usually shoot sunsets and moons. Nice capture though!

  10. Love these solo and even more as a set - they look so good framed. Would be very graphic on a white wall. I'm not a morning person, per se, but I think I get by better on sunshine than moonlight. Sunshine around 70 with a few white, fluffy clouds...little breeze...yeah. ;)

  12. These are gorgeous, Julie! I must admit that I need a little bit of both the Sun and the Moon as each present aspects which are totally beautiful and unique; bearing gifts of great magick, wonder and splendour to the world.

  13. These are beautiful. I am a night owl, unless I have a job for months that I wake up early, and then I can learn to love early mornings!
